TFT 7" LCD Headrest Monitor

Was browsing thru' the honda forum (www.shc-forum.com) and came across the advertisement for this headrest monitor. Quite cheap, a pair selling at $250 include installation. Went to the shop after contacting the person and found they have the last set. The shop person recommend me another better set with clearer picture quality but sell at a higher price, $480. After viewing the demo given by the shop, was quite satisfy with the picture quality so proceed to install. The installation took about 45 min and now my rear passengers can be entertained!

Soxxi Car Alarm - Mantiz Remote Key

I had been searching around for a better car alarm as my current one is just a remote to lock & unlock. It does not comes with alarm function. I did check with the Honda salesperson, but she told me it is to cut cost and I bought my City at a very low stock clearance price. So I had to look for a better one. Did some homework on car alarm and came to know there are lots of function, for example, immobiliser, trunk release, one way alarm, two way alarm, etc. I came to know ZMC alarm (www.zmc.com.sg) and call  to enquire. I am interested with their Zenesis alarm as it is very high tech. Should a car key be accidentally locked in a car, it can be unlock by just pressing a code on the windscreen. It also came with a feedback function, if someone disturb the car, it can send a signal to the car owner mobile phone. Wow, good alarm but the price is too high, it cost $438.

So my choice is reduced to a few models. For example, Steelmate or Spy alarm, but they don't have those remote key type. Initially I want a flip key type but the price is also high. The zenesis is those with a remote attached to a car key. I find it very inconvenient so I also rule out Zenesis. Decide to went to Soxxi today and found they have the widest selection of car keys and alarms. They have almost all car brands original key and they duplicate keys too! The flip key type cost $328, too expensive for me. So I decide on the remote key type. It cost $260 with installation, within my budget. The functions are as follows:
- Auto rearm
- Auto arm & unarm
- Auto central locking
- Arm  reminder (if forget to arm vehicle)
- Panic mode (to locate car with siren)
- Door open hazard lights indicator
- Trunk release (Did not install as need to add $50 and seldom need this function)
- Shock sensor (if someone disturb my car, it will sound off alarm, don't play play, hehe)
- Starter Killer

Below are some photos for some preview:

This is the front view of the remote key. It came with 3 buttons, namely Arm, Disarm & Panic (Car locating) respectively.

This is the rear view.

The key pouch is recommended by Soxxi. And they offer me each for $9.90, originally was $19.90. As I had purchased the alarm from them, they gave me 50% discount. So I bought 2 pairs as now I have 2 remote keys. It is so convenient now, I can keep the remote key in the pouch when not in use.

So far happy with this car alarm. Hope it give better protection against theft.

Upgraded 15" Rims

After much considerations, decide to go for the 15" rims. Came across this advertisement in Hotstuff magazine and saw that this rims came with the 'H' logo, exactly what I am looking for.
Went to visit this shop called "Chuan Lee Hin Tyres" and the guys there recommend me to go for the 16" rims.
As it will increase fuel consumption, decided not to do that and go for the 15" instead. The tyres I choose is Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001. This is a performance tyres and I am satisfy with the performance, except that the price is quite steep. but for the sake of safety, I don't mind paying extra cash.
This is the the enhanced look of my city!

Project City - Bodykit Installation

Project city: I have been looking around for a suitable bodykit for my car and had found a Mugen kit style to enhance the looks. I like the kit very much and order the set so that the workshop can send it for spray painting. The story goes...
---------------------------------------------
It was a Wednesday morning(25 Feb 09), time is 8.50am, I set out to the workshop at Woodlands Link, called Yun Design. Upon reaching the workshop around 9.20am, the workshop guys are already waiting for my arrival and they are preparing the kit for installation. Without much hesitation, they start to work on my car.
---------------------------------------------
Taking this photo before the installation. The car still look very stock.

The first step to the installation, the mud flap had to be removed. This is necessary as it will be replaced by the side skirting.

A close up view of the mud flap before removal.

The front lip being positioned. Immediately I noticed a different look, now it look nice and fierce. This is Mugen kit design.

The wheel had to be turned to one side so as to installed the front lip. There are two screws on each side to tighten the kit.

The side view before side skirt installation.

The rear kit being positioned for installation. The workshop guys had to hold the kit carefully and apply masking tape to assist in the bonding.

The rear kit being installed. Noticed the masking tape is required to hold the kit while waiting for the glue to be dried.

A close up view of the engine after the cover is removed. Noticed the tube in the centre, it had to be cut so as to tap the vacuum sensor.

The hood open up ready for gauges installation.

The gauges being position before installation. Lots of wiring had to be done and the workshop guy begins to dismantled the interior cover.
